Every puppy or dog that leaves Fawn Lane to start their life with their new family comes with a purchase agreement, or contract to protect the well being of the puppy/dog, the buyer and Fawn Lane. We are very flexible and want the best for all 3 parties. If you have questions please don't hesitate to reach out! This contract is signed upon final payment, when your puppy or dogs leaves us. Thank you for choosing Fawn Lane Shetland Sheepdogs to provide your new furry family member. We strive to produce well-rounded, healthy pups that will continue to be your best friend for many, many years.
All puppies leaving our care are up to date on age-appropriate healthcare including vaccines and deworming as well as having a microchip placed. *Please register the microchip in your name ASAP, so should anything happen to your puppy they can be returned safely to you.
We do not want our puppies to end up in shelters, so we would like to be notified if you are unable to keep your puppy and they can be returned to us at any point. No refund will be due if you are unable to keep your puppy and they are returned to us, although appropriate return sale agreements may be made. They must not be placed in a rescue or handed over to an animal shelter.
You have been provided with a sample of the food we feed (Black Gold Performance All life stages) with added probiotic to aid in digestion and stress that may come when adapting to a new home and new routines. Your puppy is not house broken and will need work to learn your expectations and potty schedules. They have however learned to use a “potty area/litter pan” reliably while indoors and in their pen. Please be patient with them and use lots of positive encouragement as well as frequent outside time.
Health guarantee:
Your puppy comes with a 2-year health guarantee (birth to their second birthday). They are guaranteed to be free from any fatal hereditary defects which they may die from before their second birthday. Your puppy’s parents have been extensively health tested for breed related genetic markers as well as hip dysplasia and eye anomalies and are free and clear to date.
Should your puppy pass away unexpectedly and an autopsy be performed at your expense and the cause was found to be by a fatal hereditary defect you will be granted a new puppy within one year of the puppy’s death, or a full refund will be given within 30 days of letter submission to the seller, Logan Allphin/Fawn Lane Shetland Sheepdogs by the licensed veterinarian. If the autopsy is inconclusive, no refund or replacement puppy will be provided.
Should your puppy not pass away but be found to have a fatal genetic/hereditary condition in their first two years of life which prohibits them from being a companion animal , a 50% refund of the original purchase price will be given. An official letter from a veterinarian must be provided before any refund is due.
This health guarantee does not cover internal or external parasites, luxating patella, eye disorders, allergies-including food or skin, behavioral issues or any other condition that can be corrected or helped via veterinary treatment or behavioral training -or which was disclosed prior-
You are expected to keep your puppy up to date on required and suggested vaccinations and healthcare as well as periodic well-checks by a licensed veterinarian. Failure to do so will void any warranty associated with this contract.
Seller Choose one of the below options:
Your puppy is being sold with LIMITED AKC registration, which means they are not to be used for breeding and cannot be shown in AKC conformation, but may still participate in other AKC sanctioned events. We recommend spaying and/or neutering your puppy after 2 years of age if you choose to do so to give them time to mature fully. You’ll be provided with your puppy’s registration application. This needs to be filled out and mailed into AKC following the directions on the application or completed online, which is easiest.
Your puppy is being sold with FULL AKC registration which means they can compete in AKC conformation events and if they continue to develop nicely may also have breeding potential. At the time of sale, this puppy shows promise in being a great example of the breed (Shetland Sheepdog) but the breeder/seller makes no claim as to how the puppy will continue to mature and turn out and cannot be held liable in this aspect. When registering your puppy, we ask that you use our kennel prefix “Fawn Lane’s” before any other given name. You’ll be provided with your puppy’s registration application. This needs to be filled out and mailed into AKC following the directions on the application or completed online, which is easiest.
If the puppy sold is male, the breeder/seller (Logan Allphin) reserves the right to use this dog to receive stud service back in the future once the puppy is mature and proves to be a great example of the breed at no cost to the seller (Logan Allphin) All breeding costs associated with these potential stud services back will be the responsibility of the bitch owner. *Progesterone, travel, shipping ect. **This does NOT apply if the puppy was sold as a pet with limited registration.
